"Simplement" extends my creative work, bringing to life and sharing certain research and experiments born from an obvious idea or the working of materials. The concept of artisanal design allows me to affirm the importance of a fully considered approach, from start to finish. The proximity of the production chain enables me to take into account and optimize the actions of every participant and every detail in the creation of the object, while maintaining the goal of achieving optimal and generous simplicity in a different way.
My grandfather, a blacksmith, would spend hours crafting tools to make complex or repetitive tasks easier. I was fascinated by his forge, which was like a museum of artisanal ingenuity.
Now, I take the time to test an idea, to work a material in different ways, to manipulate a geometry. In searching, we sometimes find what we never imagined; I try to give myself the freedom to let the unexpected emerge in its most obvious form. Sometimes, you have to make, unmake, and remake to create things simply.
The digital revolution, at the same time, allows for the development of a new kind of craftsmanship that appropriates certain industrial capabilities with unparalleled flexibility. It also fuels creativity and enables us to rethink a project, preserving its essence and quality with reasonable means.
Simplement therefore offers to share this space of freedom and exploration.
